Twice in a Red Moon

Red Austin Moon Posted by Hello

Dad took this picture through his telescope tonight. There was a complete lunar eclipse. and when the Moon enters and exits Earth's shadow, the Earth's gravity and atmosphere bends the Sun's light, only allowing red light through. The red area is really the shadow of our sky. Only happens twice in a red moon.
